Once a glorious city
By hopes of men was built.
And people lived there happ’ly
In reign of their good king.
But bliss is not forever,
Alas, it can be brief.
Ere long the dragon came there
And filled the land with woe.
A fearsome beast, arisen
From caves beneath the hills.
She stole away their joy of life,
Incin’rated their homes.

Where once a glorious city stood
Remains but ruins now.
